about me
Capturing authentic beauty in its full expression, in all forms, by anticipating the magic while being fully present, often behind the scenes yet not detached.
After tinkering in photography over 20 years ago, starting in a dark room in Gainesville, Florida developing prints, my life’s path came full circle to pursuing the art of photography full time. While I'm fascinated by how much the technology has changed, nothing beats the slow process and anticipation that comes with analog photography. (Kristin plans to start incorporating both digital and film into future events)
In addition to photography, other ventures have included Montessori teacher-education training, teaching at a small inner-city school for children who were homeless in Washington, DC, a role as an investigator both for Guardian ad Litems in DC as well as a GAL in North Carolina advocating for children in foster care, a 10-month long Kundalini yoga teacher training certification, and a BA in cultural anthropology from the University of Florida — all of which laid a part of the foundation that have guided many of the perspectives throughout my life.
After eventually settling into my long-time passion as a photographer, I found that what I love is capturing the candid connections between people in their environment. Immersing myself in the present moment with the goal of capturing the emotions of friends and family that tell the stories that become the cherished memories of my clients. I'm also hopeless romantic and enjoy capturing all the love, sweat, and tears. - Kristin
